Description: A daisy-like flower with a very prominent cone-shaped center.

Color: Red, gold and orange

Botanical facts: This member of the sunflower family is a popular and widely used herbal cold remedy. Extract of the Echinacea root has been found to boost the human immune system.

Design notes: Cone flower centers add an interesting and exotic texture to arrangements.

Purchasing hints: Use as whole flowers if the flowers are fresh and the petals in good condition. When the flower ages, remove the petals and use the flower center.

Conditioning: Remove all foliage that will be below the water line. Cut two inches off of the stem ends with a sharp knife. Hydrate in a solution of water and commercial floral food for two hours before storage or usage.

Additional notes: Cone flower heads dry easily and can be used in permanent arrangements
